同聲傳譯不只是要求能將英文準(zhǔn)確的翻譯成中文，還需要將中文準(zhǔn)確的翻譯成英文，這對于同聲傳譯的翻譯員來說要求非常高!為此今天海繹小伙伴為大家?guī)硪韵录记砂咐治?，希望對大家有所幫?
第1句
中國政府對最近幾個月來世界各地發(fā)生的恐怖主義行為持續(xù)不斷深感不安。
In recent months, the world has witnessed continual acts of terrorism and the Chinese Government is deeply concerned.
翻譯時需要把主語暫時存放一邊，如果你開始就說“the Chinese Government”，而“深感不安”卻在句子最后，句子不好往下接。因此，我們先把主語放在一邊，先翻譯“最近幾個月來，再翻譯中國政府深感不安”。當(dāng)然也可以用“恐怖主義行為”來作主語，翻譯為 “Continual acts or terrorism have occurred worldwide in recent months…”或者說“There have been continual acts of terrorism worldwide in recent months…”。
第2句
國際社會必須在貿(mào)易金融發(fā)展等國際經(jīng)濟領(lǐng)域中采取具體步驟。
In trade, finance and development and many other economic areas, the international community must adopt concrete measures.
這句話也同樣需要“存主語”。中文的主語“國際社會”需要先存在一邊，然后翻譯“貿(mào)易金融發(fā)展等國際經(jīng)濟領(lǐng)域中”，最后才接“采取具體步驟”。我們不能等到最后一個字出來才開始翻譯，這里只有“貿(mào)易金融發(fā)展”三個并列項目，有時一個句子會列出很長的特定項目，所以必須緊跟一一列出的內(nèi)容，先譯“In trade, finance and development and many other economic areas.”
第3句
我們一貫支持阿拉伯國家和人民的正義斗爭。
We consistently support the Arab countries and their people in their just struggle.
這句話需要套用一個英語句型結(jié)構(gòu)“to support somebody in something”。
第4句
我國裁減軍隊人員100萬的措施今年年底就要完成。
China will cut its army by 1 million and this measure will be completed by the end of this year.
當(dāng)聽到“的措施”時，就另起一句，用and來連，“and this measure...”。
第5句
今年5月關(guān)于非洲沖突特別聯(lián)大的召開反映了國際社會問題的關(guān)注。
Last May a special UN session on the conflict in Africa was convened. This reflects the international concern over the question of Africa.
把該句中文第一部分變成一個句子，然后用“this”另起一句。 將“的召開”變成“開了一次會”，后半部分變成“這反映了……”。
第6句
我們呼吁有關(guān)各方做出進一步努力，使經(jīng)過多年談判的共同基金盡早生效。
We appeal to all sides concerned to make further efforts to make sure that the common fund which has been under negotiation for years will come into effect, at an early date.
中文中的“使得……”在英語中需要一個緩沖結(jié)構(gòu)，這里順勢，用不定式“to make sure that”或“to see to it that”這樣靈活的表達方式，(僅可接一句子)來羸得時間。
第7句
我們不希望伊朗核問題提交安理會以后出現(xiàn)緊張局勢。
We do not hope to see a situation where the referral of the Iran nuclear issue to the Security Council will cause international tension.
在“we do not hope”后面需要有一個緩沖的結(jié)構(gòu)來引導(dǎo)另一個分句，“to see a situation where”可以幫你贏得一點時間，讓你有時間考慮如何組織后半個句子。我們經(jīng)常使用的一些緩沖結(jié)構(gòu)是“to see to it, to make sure that, a situation where”等句式。
第8句
我們贊賞秘書長為解決持續(xù)40年之久的塞浦路斯問題所發(fā)揮的積極作用。
We appreciate the fact that the Secretary General has been working hard to resolve the Cyprus issue which has been going on for 40 years.
中文句子相對較長，我們不能等到“積極作用”話音落地才開始翻譯。處理這個句子的方法是加上“the fact that”。That僅可跟一從句，給了譯員很大的自由度?！皐ork hard”是中性的表達方式，全句的意思已譯出。如有時間，可再補一句And he’s been playing an active role in the process.
第9句
我們同意聯(lián)合國教科文組織總干事在蘇州會議上所表達的……
We agree with the Director General of UNESCO when he said (who said) at the Suzhou meeting that…
一聽到“我們同意聯(lián)合國教科文組織總干事”，我們就可以開口翻譯了。后文“在蘇州會議上所表達的……”，我們可以用一個從句來連接。
第10句
可持續(xù)發(fā)展委員會第4次會議結(jié)束了對21世紀(jì)議程的審議。
The Committee on Sustainable Development at its 4th meeting finished its consideration of the agenda of Agenda 21.
這里的“第4次會議”用“at its 4th meeting”順下來，這是很地道的英語。
第11句
聯(lián)合國大會第1345號決議要求……
The General Assembly of United Nations in its Resolution 1345 resolution demands that...
這里的“in”也用得恰到好處。
第12句
韓國、泰國、新加坡、臺灣等國家和地區(qū)的出口占亞洲出口總量的30%。
The Republic of China, Thailand, Singapore, and Taiwan, are countries and regions whose export accounted for more than 30% of Asia’s total.
我們無法記住這么多國家和地區(qū)的名字，也來不及記在紙上，所以我們只能開口說出這些名稱，“The Republic of China, Thailand, Singapore, and Taiwan”。接下來的“國家和地區(qū)的出口”，為了順下去，我們可以說“are countries and regions whose export accounted for more than 30% of Asia’s total.”這當(dāng)然不是地道的英語，但這也是允許的，聽眾能夠理解你說的意思。這種處理方法的原則就是什么重要什么優(yōu)先。在這里，我們必須犧牲最地道的英語以便能夠跟上代表的發(fā)言。這就是我為什么說“同聲傳譯就是巧妙地傳遞意義同時又不失準(zhǔn)確和完整，雖然在這個過程中不可避免一些細(xì)微信息會丟失”。這兩個例句是要讓大家明白，作為一名同傳翻譯，你常需要預(yù)測說話人下面要講的內(nèi)容，這是很經(jīng)常的現(xiàn)象。你必須熟悉講話人的主題 內(nèi)容并了解各國代表的立場。
下面一個例句是賀詞，通常都是一些固定的說法。
第13句
我首先對你當(dāng)選為聯(lián)合國第58屆大會主席表示熱烈的祝賀……
At the outset I wish to congratulate you on your election as president of the 58th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations. (I believe with your talent and experience you will be able to contribute to the success of the work.)
最后兩個詞肯定是“祝賀”，沒有別的詞語替代。所以我們可以開口就說“congratulate”。當(dāng)說到“be able to”時我們必須猜測，我們可以說 “you will be able to contribute to the success of the work”或者說“you will be able to accomplish this year’s work successfully”。通常遇到這種情況，我們不得不進行猜測或估計，而且往往我們也能估計出來說話人會說什么，這需要經(jīng)驗和自信。
